Living with Pets - JAPAN CRAZE Magazine vol.33 -

Hello everyone!

Today, I'd like to talk about pets. Even if you don't have a pet, I hope you'll stay with me until the end and read along.

Do you have a pet?

On a personal note, I have a feline companion. He spends his days in a relaxed and carefree manner, but when it comes to mealtime, he's strictly punctual. I'm convinced he can read a clock!

My buddy. Sometimes he even becomes a confidant for me. It all depends on his mood, though... lol

While the data may be a bit outdated, according to a 2016 survey report by GfK (Growth from Knowledge), a market research company in Germany, more than half of the global population owned pets. Countries such as Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil had pet ownership rates of around 60-70%. In comparison, pet ownership rates in Asia were relatively lower on a global scale, and Japan ranked among the bottom three with a pet ownership rate of 37%.

By the way, according to this chart, it seems that globally there is a higher percentage of people owning dogs rather than cats. However, interestingly enough, among the j-Grab Mall staff, including myself, the rate of cat ownership is actually higher.

Why is the pet ownership rate low in Japan?

According to a public opinion survey conducted by the Japanese Cabinet Office, the highest percentage (43.5%) of respondents who do not own pets cited the reason as "Not being able to take proper care of them." Other reasons included "Feeling sorry for them when they pass away" (37.6%) and "Living in a multi-unit housing where pets are prohibited" (23.1%).

While there are negative opinions and reasons surrounding the ownership of animals or pets, many people in Japan choose not to own or are unable to own pets precisely because they have a deep affection for animals.

Because they are beloved family members, pets deserve good health too

For those who have pets, they are cherished members of your family. That's why it's important for them to stay healthy and live a long life.

At j-Grab Mall, we offer a range of products that prioritize the health of your pets.

Herb Pack to Maintain Your Beloved Dog's Skin and Coat Health

The SIMURA Animal Rasayana Herb Pack series is a 100% organic coloring herb pack for dogs, specially designed for Toy Poodles. It features a unique blend of eco-certified organic herbs, including Cassia leaf and Melia azedarach leaf (Chinaberry), that are carefully selected and safe even if licked.(*1)

In addition to the Clear variant that focuses on improving skin and coat, it is also available in three other colors: Red, Vivid Red, and Apricot.

Dogs often experience various skin issues as they age, such as thinning or sparse fur, and the development of skin rashes. The SIMURA Animal Rasayana Herb Pack series was developed with a focus on the concept of using herbs and traditional medicine to maintain health, inspired by how humans utilize them for their well-being.

By taking care of the skin, you can help maintain your beloved dog's youthfulness and overall health (*2).

*1: Although it can be used for dog breeds other than Toy Poodles, the color and color retention may vary depending on the breed, coat type, and coat color.

*2: If you have concerns about plant allergies, please conduct a patch test first. If any abnormal symptoms such as itching or redness occur during use, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.

Pet Breath Oral Care that received high praise from veterinarians

The kinber shop Probio Deep Pet Breath Oral Care series is a supplement designed to maintain oral health for dogs and cats. It focuses on increasing beneficial bacteria in the oral cavity rather than just disinfection. Its purpose is to effectively protect against common issues such as bad breath, tartar accumulation, and periodontal disease, providing comprehensive care for your beloved dogs and cats.

The tablets are vanilla-flavored, while the powder is fragrance-free, ensuring that even dogs and cats who are not fond of teeth brushing will experience minimal stress.

The tablets can be administered directly to your pet. They can also be mixed with pet food or water for easier consumption. According to kinber shop's own survey, 84% of pet owners reported experiencing positive effects within just three days of administration. Furthermore, this product has been adopted by over 2,600 animal hospitals and facilities in Japan, and its effectiveness has been supported by academic reports and presentations in veterinary medical societies.

If you can't own a pet...

Living with a pet is said to have physical, psychological, and social benefits for humans. However, as mentioned earlier, many people in Japan may be unable to own a pet due to various reasons. Some of you may fall into that category.

Indeed, owning an animal comes with responsibilities as it means "taking care of a life." It can also be financially demanding.

However, we are fortunate to live in the 21st century, an era of advanced technology and civilization. If you can't have a real animal as a pet, how about considering a robotic pet?

A communication robot that wishes for happiness in every family on Earth

Trend Master Petting Cat DX 2 Plush Doll Robot series and Trend Master Samurai Puppy HACHI Hachiko's 100th-anniversary model Robot are communication robots that recreate the experience of owning a cat or dog. They are equipped with recorded sound data of real cats and dogs, and the sensors respond to petting or calling by producing corresponding sounds.

The Trend Master Petting Cat DX 2 Plush Doll Robot series offers three types of cats for you to choose from.

The Trend Master Samurai Puppy HACHI Hachiko's 100th-anniversary model Robot is a representation of the well-known Akita breed in Japan. It is a commemorative product for the 100th anniversary of Akita dog's birth. It is inspired by the puppyhood of the famous dog "HACHI," who gained popularity through the movie "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" (2009) starring Richard Gere.

It barks when you pet it and responds when you call it. It will become your loyal companion.

Perhaps these may seem like toys at first glance. However, even if they may appear as toys, it can be delightful to have something that responds to your voice and touch.

This product has obtained the KIS (Kawasaki Standard Certification for Welfare Products) certification in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, as it is considered helpful for improving communication for elderly individuals living alone or those with cognitive impairments.

How was that?

Pets, even if they are robots, can provide emotional support and bring families closer together. When you spend time with your cherished pet, whether it be a real animal or a robot, cherish those moments where you feel happy, entertained, comforted, charmed, and joyful.
